Conference unites like-minded people
For two short days we were all home together, in the land of our ancestors and our contemporary cousins, and we showed the Piemontesi in Piemonte that although we've moved away, we haven't forgotten our history.

Put up or get down: the case for relegation
Since we soccer fans had to endure the tiresome flood of articles telling us what's wrong with our game during the World Cup, it seems only fair that fans of baseball, basketball and football take a moment to consider this key problem with basically all American professional sports: relegation. Or the lack of it.

World Cup goes back to Rome
When the World Cup started in early June, I was a devoted follower of the Italy games, but trying not to get my hopes up, since it might not be that long a commitment. I certainly never expected to see gli Azzurri hoist the cup for the second time in my life (and first in my adult life). So, the victory was sweet.

The Olympics are meant to showcase the world's best amateur athletes. It's time to get back to the basics. The flash and dash of pros is a concept that has been dated. By getting the professionals out, we can hopefully inspire another generation of kids on ponds or playgrounds to dream of gold.
