TV producer involved with "Homeland" to speak at UWM

Perspective is the best commodity when telling a story. One person who gets it is Ron Leshem. The Academy Award-nominated writer who produced "Prisoners of War," the Israeli series that Showtime's "Homeland" is based on, will talk about what the Israeli TV industry reveals about its culture in a special presentation at 7 p.m. on Jan. 30 at the UW-Milwaukee Golda Meir Library.


Garbaciak ready to return to anchor desk

She was a long-time anchor and reporter at WITI-TV Fox 6, and more recently, she's been a reporter, working on interviews and special projects for WISN-TV Ch. 12. This fall, Joyce Garbaciak will be returning to the anchor desk for a regular shift, co-hosting at 10 p.m. on Sunday nights.


Wave roll out the carpet for fans

The two-time defending Major Indoor Soccer League champion Milwaukee Wave close out their regular season with two consecutive home games this weekend at U.S. Cellular Arena and then host a first round MISL playoff game on March 10. The team is offering a variety of ticket deals and promotions for fans.
