Go there now and you'll barely see a trace of it remaining. Maybe a sweep of terrain, certainly a few footpaths that appear to follow the same route as they did a half century ago. No, there is almost no hint that the Washington Park Zoo ever even existed on the southwest corner of the park along Vliet Street.

If you take mom to the Milwaukee County Zoo this weekend, you'll notice a drastic change up entering.

Many people don't realize it, but the Milwaukee County Zoo is open 365 days a year and there is just as much animal activity going on in January as there is in June. Combat your winter cabin fever by spending a day with the animals.
