Editor & Publisher Magazine, the industry source for the media reporting, awarded OnMilwaukee.com its prestigious EPPY Award Tuesday afternoon. OnMilwaukee.com won the award for "Best Entertainment Website with under 1 million unique monthly visitors."
OnMilwaukee.com has been nominated for the award twice before, but this year marks its first win.
The EPPY Awards, presented by Editor & Publisher, honor the best media-affiliated websites across 31 diverse categories. Now in its 17th year, this international contest has broadened its scope to keep up with the ever-changing Internet industry.
OnMilwaukee.com is the only Wisconsin winner in this year's awards. The media company and daily magazine beat out three other finalists to take home the prize.
According to Editor & Publisher, the EPPY entries are judged by 60 industry experts and media specialists on the following criteria:
- Content
- Design/Creativity
- Friendliness/Interactivity
- Innovation
- Overall Impression
