Rock the Green to receive $25,000 tourism grant
The Wisconsin Department of Tourism will award Rock the Green a $25,000 Joint Effort Marketing Grant check Thursday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. in Veterans Park.
Milwaukee's near-zero waste music festival will use the JEM Grant to help draw attendees from other regions to bolster the local economy during its 2012 festival Saturday, Sept. 15.
Organizers for the second annual Rock the Green festival expect to generate over $850,000 from traveler spending at area hotels, restaurants and stores.
The 2012 Rock the Green outdoor music festival will run 2-9 p.m. in Veterans Park and feature performances from Switchfoot, Third Eye Blind, Metric and other bands.

Who are these delusional organizers? This concert could barely fill The Rave, and that's with free drink tickets. Will they see a profit from this overblown lackluster monstrosity? Certainly. A $25,000 free taxpayer profit.
