"Fake" baseball player arrested in Milwaukee
Less than a month ago, an OnMilwaukee.com investigation uncovered how a Milwaukee man's Internet persona sparked a Major League Baseball investigation.
At that time, Dan Mullin, Major League Baseball's Department of Investigations Senior Vice President, told OnMilwaukee.com that "We're looking to prosecute. That's the ultimate goal."
Major League Baseball is moving forward in that pursuit.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, "Monatous D. Walton was arrested Monday, June 4 following a search warrant at his residence. Police seized numerous items from his home which are listed in the search warrant, which are returned at the Milwaukee County Courthouse. Walton was arrested for Theft by Fraud for allegedly defrauding two parties of monies under false pretenses."
OnMilwaukee.com will continue to update the case as it develops.
