Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks hosts "Dining for a Difference," a charity dinner to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Southeastern Wisconsin (JDRF) June 1 at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 15665 W. Bluemound Rd.
In addition to being treated to a three-course dinner with hors d'oeuvres at one of the area's top steakhouses, those attending the event have an opportunity to meet and mingle with Weeks and several of his Brewers' teammates and pose for photographs with the Brewers' second baseman.
Attendees also receive a gift bag and have an opportunity to bid on unique auction items such as a first pitch ceremony at a Brewers home game and autographed memorabilia items. The emcee for the evening is Brewers television analyst Dave Nelson.
"Diabetes has personally affected so many families, including my own, so the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is a charity that is very close to me," Weeks said. "I appreciate the support from Fleming's and JDRF. This should be a great event."
Proceeds and donations from the evening benefit the JDRF of Southeastern Wisconsin, which is dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes through research. Tickets for the event are $150 and must be purchased in advance.
Tickets to the event must be purchased online on the JDRF Web site.
