Walk, Run, Wag for MADACC

Friends of MADACC will host its first annual Walk, Run, Wag for MADACC presented by Modern Woodmen of America. Friends of MADACC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of Milwaukee County’s homeless animals housed at Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC). Attendees can participate in the competitive, chip-timed 5K run (for people only) at 9:30 a.m.; the chip-timed 5K run (for people and their dogs) at 9:45 a.m.; or the one- or two mile walk (for people and their dogs) at 10 a.m. The run/walk will be emceed by Nicole Koglin, Anchor for “FOX6 WakeUp” and “Real Milwaukee.” Attendees can register for Walk, Run, Wag for MADACC at www.madaccwalkrun.org. Children 13 and under are free. The event will include a wide array of vendors, canine activities, lure coursing, dock diving, live music, food, a beer tent, demonstrations, adoptable animals, kids’ area, and more. All paid registered runners and walkers of Walk, Run, Wag for MADACC will also receive a goody bag. Medals will be awarded to the overall male and female 5K finishers, plus the top finisher in each of fourteen age groups. To add to the fun and increase the benefit to the animals, participants can also create their own teams. A team can be made up of family, friends, co-workers, companies, or any group that shares a passion to save lives.

Tosa Fest

Come enjoy a festival filled with food, drinks and fun at ths 34 year tradition. Events such as 5K run/walk and fine arts show from local artists will be displayed.  Grammy Award Winner Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band will be performing Saturday night. Proceeds support communitiy projects in the areas of education, safety and neighborhood improvement. Admission is free.
