Kids Run to Read
“Kids Run to Read” Fun Run will be held at the 5th annual Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Run at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 13 at Henry Maier Festival Park. Children ages 3-12 are invited participate in a race that will finish at the same Finish Line as the Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Run. Distances vary by age group, with the maximum distance of one mile. Registration is $12 in advance or $17 at the event on race day, if the race is not at capacity of 250 participants. Register now at www.rocknsolerun.com. The run will benefit SHARP Literacy and the Summerfest Foundation.
Summerfest Rock 'n Sole Run
Online registration for the 2015 event is open now at Rocknsolerun.com. The Summerfest Rock 'n Sole Run presented by BMO Harris Bank is celebrating it's 5th Anniversary in 2015. Once again, this year’s race will include a half marathon, quarter marathon and 5k route. Proposed routes can be found at Rocknsolerun.com. Registration fees for this year’s run have not increased and participants are encouraged to register early to save up to $55 in the half marathon, $35 in the quarter marathon and $20 in the 5k. The first price increase for the half and quarter marathons will take place January 1, 2015 and the 5K price will increase on March 12, 2015. Race participants also receive great perks including tech shirts for half and quarter marathon runners, a t-shirt for 5k participants, a finisher’s medal for all participants, one FREE Summerfest General Admission ticket, one FREE beer for registered participants 21 and older and a Post-Race Party at Henry Maier Festival Park featuring live music and more!
Summerfest 2014 will take place June 25 - 29 and July 1 - 6, from Noon until Midnight and will be closed Monday, June 30. Following its 1968 debut, Summerfest has evolved into what is now recognized as “The World’s Largest Music Festival” and Milwaukee’s cornerstone summer celebration, bringing the music industry’s hottest stars, emerging talent and local favorites along with approximately 900,000 people from Milwaukee and around the world together each year for an unforgettable live music experience. During the festival, the spotlight shines on over 800 acts, over 1,000 performances, 11 stages, delectable food and beverages and interactive activities, all in a world-class festival setting. Milwaukee Irish Fest
Milwaukee Irish Fest is the world’s largest celebration of Irish music and culture. The four-day festival showcases more than 100 entertainment acts on 16 stages at Henry W. Maier Festival Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront. The annual festival occurs every third weekend in August. The 35th annual festival takes place August 13-16, 2015.
