The Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market (MWFM) will kick off its 13th season at a brand new location in the Deer District.

The market, which takes place on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 6 through April 9, will feature a wide variety of produce, meat and prepared food items from local vendors.

The first two markets of the season (Nov. 6 and Nov. 13)  will be held outdoors at the Deer District’s popular Beer Garden where guests can peruse many of their favorite vendors in a sheltered open-air environment.

But beginning with the Nov. 20th market, the MWFM will be held at GATHER, the beautiful 6,000 square foot event space above Good City Brewing at 333 W. Juneau Ave. The second floor space features floor-to-ceiling windows which overlook Fiserv Forum and the plaza below.

“Fondy’s entire board and staff are thrilled about the Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market’s new location,” noted Executive Director Jennifer Casey in an announcement about the market. “We believe moving the market to GATHER at Deer District will allow our vendors to reach more customers.”

“We have greatly valued our long-time partnership with Milwaukee County at the Dome’s Annex over the years. While that venue is no longer an option for us, we feel this led us down a path to a location that will better allow us to achieve our mission to increase access to healthy, local food and economic opportunity in Greater Milwaukee.

Plentiful parking

Parking options for the new market location are plentiful with Deer District parking available in both the 5th Street Parking Structure at 1215 N. 5th St. and Highland Parking Structure at 1030 N. 6th St.  Metered parking is also available on the streets surrounding the Deer District.

A drop-off point for ride sharing and shuttles is located right off Juneau Ave. near the venue. For those who use Milwaukee County Transit, bus routes, including the 80 and 19, also service the neighborhood.

For your safety

Since COVID-19 remains a concern in Southeastern Wisconsin, the Fondy Market is currently updating the COVID Safe Operating Plan for the Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market. Customers will be encouraged to wear masks and follow safe shopping guidelines when attending the market. Details will be available at fondymke.org before opening day.
