Sunday Sound-off: If IKEA came to Milwaukee, where would it go?
Although plenty of Milwaukeeans have crossed the Illinois border to shop at IKEA, lots of us dream of having our very own Scandanavian, assembly-required home furnishings emporium. But if an IKEA did open in Brew City, where should it go? Downtown? The 'burbs? Why?
E-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and if picked, we'll post your response next Sunday. Only submissions that include your full name and where you live will be considered.
Last week's question: What was the best Summerfest show of all time?
Son Volt at the original Leine's Lodge in 1996.
This year's Nine Inch Nails show was amazing. I've seen them a bunch of times but this show was so intense and perfect. The lighting was amazing and they sounded awesome! I would love for them to come back next year!
INXS and The Go-Go's in 1982 or 1983. It was before the Marcus Amphitheater opened.
Tom Petty's "Full Moon Fever" tour rocked.
Finch said: IKEA 3 - I want what you're smoking! Milwaukee is nicer than Atlanta??! Not even close! I understand home town pride but that's just unfounded. There are sooo many reasons why Atlanta is better that I won't even list. You just can't put Milwaukee in the same class as Atlanta. That's like comparing a Pontiac to an Audi...

IKEA 3 said: I would disagree. Atlanta is an overated city. Been their once and have no need to go back. Milwaukee is much nicer!
Finch said: I'll give you the traffic but most will agree that Atlanta is a much nicer city than Milwaukee. We'll see who's complaining about how hot it is down there in December or January or how 'bout February and March. Hey, I'll even give them April and May when it's in the 70's and 80's there. Don't forget about how hot it's supposed to get here in July and August...
Tammy said: Atlanta? Nice is in the eye of the beholder. I was just there (have been there before too) and it's a sprawling area filled with big box retailers. If that makes Milwaukee 15 years behind then I say , Hooray. Atlanta just didn't do it for me. It was depressing and the traffic was annoying. Oh yeah, and it's too hot there too!
