Josh Harty and Sarah Lou Richards

JOSH HARTY AND SARAH LOU RICHARDS Sat Mar 5 2016 8pm @ 224 W. Bruce St. - $8 Josh Harty's unique blend of American music has become a must see for those who keep the tradition of country, blues and folk close to their hearts. Born and raised on the plains of North Dakota, Josh has continued the old family occupation of playing guitar, developed in the church halls and smoky rooms of the great midwest. In the past decade Josh has put out three critically acclaimed solo albums and two duo albums ("12 August" with John Statz and "The Attic Session" with Blake Thomas) while touring continuously across Europe and North America, and shows no signs of slowing down. Harty's fourth solo album, "Wired", will be released in March 2016. More info at www.JoshHarty.com “An honest voice and fingers that seem to catch fire!” -Atlanta Music Guide “There is a dignity to this music making that leaves us feeling enriched for the experience. . . “ -No Depression --------------------- Sarah Lou Richards will tell you that she was born in Wisconsin. But the folk-Americana musician known as SLR was born in Nashville. Richards released her folksy debut EP, Emerald City, in September 2009; Henry Paul, lead singer of the multiplatinum country band BlackHawk, produced her first full-length album, 2010's twangier, Ruby Red Shoes. Last year, she teamed up with Gary Nichols, lead singer of the Grammy-nominated bluegrass band The Steeldrivers. They recorded a duet, "I Ain't Easy to Love," at the legendary FAME and NuttHouse studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and the sessions were so successful that Nichols signed on to produce her sophomore full length. Richards has shared the stage with globally recognized artists like Jamie O'Neal, Sarah Siskind, and Gabe Dixon and opened for Bombadil and Woody Pines, among other nationally touring acts. As the hype surrounding her new album builds, others are discovering it too. Says Nichols: "For me, what it comes down to is that the girl can sing. Or, the way I say it down here in Alabama, that girl can SANG." More info at: www.SarahLouRichards.com $8

Them Coulee Boys

THEM COULEE BOYS WITH SPECIAL GUEST SEASAW Sat Mar 12 2016 8pm @ 224 W. Bruce St. - $8 Allegedly founded at a summer camp, Them Coulee Boys have come a long way since then. Born in the back valleys of Western Wisconsin, Them Coulee Boys craft a brand of Americana that blends punk, bluegrass, and rock & roll. What's left is music that feels like a conversation, all while knowing just how diverse a conversation can be. A love letter or a farewell fight. A drunken confession or a sober realization. A fist raised in protest, or a hand held in harmony. Them Coulee Boys want you to find your voice in their music, and sing along. Guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, and a lone kick drum provide the pulse that drives the music Them Coulee Boys make. 4-part harmonies learned in dive bars and church basements alike provide a back drop for lyrics that make it "impossible not to bob your head, shake your legs, or even strum your fingers along with the beat" (The Spectator). Never the ones to stand still, Them Coulee Boys are tirelessly touring and working on their second record, due in 2016. "[Them Coulee Boys] are prolific, caring, and a fiercely good time on stage and off." - Volume One Magazine Seasaw: Located on the edge of the Midwestern landscape, Seasaw is the alliance of two souls that push and pull in combination to produce a sound that is charismatic and powerful, yet deceptively simple. Bandmates since 2010, Meg Golz and Eve Wilczewski take turns leading and following in the musical spaces they have created. Residing in Madison, WI, Seasaw blends a compelling arrangement of instruments with distinct harmonies to create a charming and innovative folk-pop sound. 2014 saw the release of the duo’s second full length album, “The Look in Your Eyes Tells Me This is a Bad Idea”, and the privileges to perform alongside bands including: Hugh Robert Masterson, Canyon Spells, Hillary Reynolds Band, Run River North, Boom Forest and Caroline Smith. advance tickets available here-- https://anodynecoffee.com/shop/product-category/events/
