The Downer Avenue Einstein Bros. Bagels has been closed since July 2006.   But, today – even as the Einstein awning still hangs – there are finally signs of life.  Or, at least a sign.

And, the sign says "Opening soon.  Deja Vu on Downer.  Antiques, Home Decor & More …"

So, there you have it.  From bagels to home decor in only seven years.

By the way, it’s been nearly six years since The Chancery closed its doors next door at 2575 N. Downer Ave.

Hopefully the opening of Deja Vu is a sign of more things to come along this strip of Downer Avenue.
