I have celebrated my share of St. Patrick's Days and New Year's Eves in this town. I've had years where I attended every day of Summerfest.
When it comes to inebriated behavior -- or that indelible spirit fueled by spirits -- few events in this town surpass the Brewers' home opener.
I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the parking lot before the game, but it was a gorgeous day and folks seemed jazzed about the coming of spring, Brewers baseball and skipping a day of work (not necessarily in that order).
As is often the case at the home opener, there were some empty seats for the pre-game ceremonies, the national anthem and the first pitch.
The crowd was at full-throat in the first, though, when Prince Fielder singled in a run and Bill Hall jacked a two-run homer.
Things seemed to quiet a bit as the pace slowed in the second and third innings, the vendors, who are wearing lime green T-shirts, seemed busy. Based on the activity in the stands, I think it is going to be a busy night at the local watering holes.
