Last night at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) handed out its awards for 2014.
The awards, featuring a massive range of categories, were generously spread around, though tremendously trendy Baraboo-born modern soul band PHOX and Milwaukee's busiest band Vic and Gab – who also performed at the awards show – both came away with two awards each. PHOX came away with the night's biggest prize, Artist of the Year, as well as Alternative Rock/Rock Artist of the Year, while Vic and Gab won Song of the Year for "Let You Down" and Pop Rock Artist of the Year.
Meanwhile, Volcano Choir only won one award last evening, but it was a big one: Album of the Year for "Repave."
The same night, Warren Wiegratz, Janet Planet and Woody Herman were all inducted into the WAMI Hall of Fame.
