Recently the Milwaukee hip-hop scene has been enjoying a good amount of collaboration.
Artists like Streetz-n-Young Dueces and SPEAK Easy have been involved in making music together in addition to being part of the More Than Music Group.
Producer/emcee Raze put together an entire album with The Hollowz emcee Logic.
The latest stoke in the fire of collaboration comes from Umbrella Music Group's Ka$h and A-Team's Nova.
The duo had adopted the name Ghrassroots Movement and have recently dropped their first single, a track called "Last Name Jonas" from the forthcoming "Don Cornelius on Mars EP."
"Last Name Jonas" is a low-key club track that pounds with bass and flaunts the excesses of life in regards to the female gender.
"Jonas" can be heard here.
Born in Milwaukee and raised in the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer, Concordia University Wisconsin alumnus Poppe has spent the majority of his life in or around the city and county of Milwaukee.
As an advocate of Milwaukee's hip-hop community Poppe began popular local music blog Milwaukee UP in March 2010. Check out the archived entries here.
Though heavy on the hip-hop, Poppe writes about other genres of music and occasionally about food, culture or sports, and is always ready to show his pride in Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
