Last summer Tay Butler released a mixtape called "UMG Summer League," which he recorded after returning home from a deployment with the military.

This summer, as he preps for another foreign deployment, Tay has been working on a new album. Recently a track from that album, or possibly another project, was released via Umbrella Music Group's website.

The song, "I Came Up," shouts out Milwaukee boutique Moda3 at the beginning and then proceeds to showcase rhymes about Butler's comfort in his own skin – something he admitted having issues with on the standout song "Home" from last year's project. On that, he discussed his nomadic lifestyle fueled by a search for hip-hop acceptance.

The song also features UMG's flagship artist Prophetic.

You can check out the new song right here.
