Your guide to having a great summer is brought to you by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and Peoples State Bank.

The highway to the danger zone leads to Brew City this weekend as the annual Air and Water Show will take off around the lakefront on Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24.

As you've probably heard already, jets have been warming up this week above Milwaukee for the show – headlined this year by the Navy Blue Angels and their all-new C-130 "Fat Albert" support aircraft, making its debut at the Air and Water Show on Saturday and Sunday. The event will also feature displays from the E-3 Sentry, the F-22 Raptor Demo Team and several cilivian air performers as well. And that's just the air part of the Air and Water Show, as Saturday and Sunday's performances will also include aquatic displays from the U.S. Coast Guard and more.

Here's the general schedule for the Air and Water Show weekend:

  • 8 a.m. – Parking lots open
  • 9 a.m. – Gates open
  • 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Water show
  • Noon-4 p.m. – Air show
    • 3 p.m. – Navy Blue Angels

In between oohing and ahhing, the Air and Water Show will also feature a number of exhibits, displays and vendors on the grounds around the lakefront as well.

Tickets for reserved seating and parking at the Air and Water Show are available at the event's website – though, pro tip, watching the show with a front row seat from Bradford Beach is free of charge – along with additional information about the performances, the show and more. And here's a bonus pro tip: If all that need for speed gets you feeling a need for feed on the lakefront, Food Truck Fest – featuring 20 food trucks serving up all sorts of tasty dishes – is right on the lakefront too from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Summerfest grounds, with tickets costing just $5, so come on by.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
