Everyone has a strategy to buying a flight. Whether you’re loyally aligned with one airline, convinced in favor of one particular booking Web site or methodical in the date and time of purchase, everyone, myself included, utilizes tips they’ve learned over the years to get the best deal on airfare.

But what if the flight you’re looking for is the same price on several airlines booked through several booking agents. Is it then a matter of schedules and layovers? A matter of airline affiliation? The last several flights I’ve taken have been on AirTran and I’ve had nothing but compliments on their service so far.  They’ve taken off on time, landed early and offered several flying times throughout the day.

But, as I was looking to book a flight this morning, I'd hope for a financial incentive to seal the deal. Midwest, Continental, AirTran and Southwest all offer flights at the same price and similar flying times throughout the day. So, what to do?

Does price lure you to finally click book it? Or do you value service over a cheap price?
