Summerfest's solution to their canceled Jimmy Buffett Amp concert on Thursday, July 6, now needs another solution, as indie rock band AJR announced this weekend that they've canceled their Thursday Amp-headlining gig as well as their opening act for Saturday night's Imagine Dragons Amp show.

AJR has good – and unfortunate – reasons for the cancellations, though. Posting on social media yesterday, the band – made up of brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met – explained that their father is ill.

"For a year now, our Dad has been getting sicker and sicker. It’s been a horrible, insane, scary, beautiful year, and in the short future, it feels like our time with Gary might soon be over. We hope you guys can understand, we gotta cancel the upcoming July shows and spend as much time with him as possible," the band wrote in the post.

This marks the second time that the final Thursday of Summerfest has lost its Amp headlining act. Originally, Jimmy Buffett was planned to start the third Big Gig weekend at the Amp, but the "Margaritaville" crooner canceled his show as he continues to recover from a health scare. And now his replacement, AJR, has had to cancel their Amp gig that night as well.

Refunds will be available at the point of purchase, and tickets purchased with a credit card will be refunded automatically. For more information, visit Summerfest's website

Summerfest has announced a replacement for the Amphitheater on Thursday night, though: If you missed him at the Generac Power Stage this past weekend, you've got another chance as the Big Gig has ordered seconds of Yung Gravy, taking over the Amp headlining gig for AJR. The new Amp show from the "Betty (Get Money)" rapper will be free with festival admission, opening the doors at 6:30 p.m. with seats going on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit Summerfest's website.

And as for the final night of the Big Gig, though AJR will no longer perform at the Amp that evening, the main act – Imagine Dragons – is still scheduled to take the stage on Saturday, July 8.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
