The Charles Allis Art Museum's musical series, Allis After Hours, will host a new American Roots Music Series every Thursday this May.

The condensed music series will feature local musicians working in the genre of American roots, including Lil' Rev on banjo, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, harmonica and recorder May 3; fiddle, old blues numbers and jug band songs by Fox & Branch May 10; train tunes from Larry Penn May 17; Colin O'Brien on banjo and American finger-style guitar May 24; and Frogwater's blend of bluegrass, Delta blues and ragtime music to end the series May 30.

Individual show admission is $5 and $6. Series passes are $20 for members and $25 for non-members and include a free compilation CD of the series. Passes and tickets will be sold online and at the door before each concert beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Interviews and music from each musician will also be featured prior to their Allis After Hours appearance Wednesdays at 4 p.m. on WMSE 91.7.
