After three years of business, Annona Bistro, 2643 S. Kinnickinic Ave., quietly closed on Sunday. According to co-owner Stacy Stangarone, the demise of the business was a long time coming.

"We’ve had so much support from everyone, and great reviews, but it has been a struggle since we opened," says Stangarone.

The bistro served pizzas, sandwiches and fresh salads inspired by Stangarone’s travels in the Czech Republic, Croatia and France.

"This (restaurant) has been our life," says Stangarone, who owned the business with her husband, Joe.
