Here at OnMilwaukee.com, we pride ourselves in being Milwaukee experts. Since it is literally our job to eat, sleep and breathe all things Brew City, we get many questions from our readers.
This is where we answer them.
In the "Ask OMC" series, we take your questions, big or small, and track down the answers. Send your query to askomc@staff.onmilwaukee.com. Be sure to include your name and location, and we will consider it for our next installment.
Our inspiration today comes from Jeremy, who writes:
"With the recent destruction of Pizza Man, I was having a discussion with my co-workers about "Milwaukee Institutions" that a lot of people "should really go visit" but never get around to. I am a victim myself of never visiting the National Liquor Bar. Perhaps a list of places people must visit before it may soon be too late."
That's a great question, Jeremy. It was a popular conversation in the wake of the fire that destroyed Pizza Man, 1800 E. North Ave., as well as CUSH Lounge, Grecian Delight and Black & White Cafe.
Obviously, definitions of "institutions" vary from person to person. We posed the question to friends on Facebook and Twitter and these are the suggestions of iconic, "can't-miss" places that we received. Feel free to use the Talkback feature to add others.
