Local author Kim Wilson will host a talk at the Boerner Botanical Gardens discussing her books "In the Garden With Jane Austen" and "Tea With Jane Austen" on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Wilson will discuss the gardens of Austen's time that she would have known and loved, the secrets of her tea ritual and a how-to on creating your own "Jane Austen garden."

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of Austen's first novel, "Sense and Sensibility."

Tickets for the event are $15 and includes admission to the gardens, the discussion with Wilson, tea and snacks, and an hour-long guided tour of the botanical gardens.
