Just when you thought the blade-throwing fun at AXE MKE couldn't get anymore cutthroat, here comes AXEChange MKE, a pop-up concept bringing stock market thrills and gamesmanship to the East Side interactive entertainment bar.
Beginning Thursday, Jan. 11, AXEChange MKE will bring the rapidly changing ups and downs of playing the stock market to their drink menu, with prices constantly altering based on supply and demand. Beverages in high demand will grow in price, while beverages in high supply will drop – with the crowd's choices determining everything. And as with the regular stock market, there's always the potential for a market crash – but at AXEChange MKE, a crash is something to celebrate as all drink prices will temporarily drop as a result.
Basically, it's a way to turn even the bar menu at AXE MKE into a game alongside all the blade-throwing games, with attendees able to play the market and drink the rewards.
"Bars & Recreation has never done anything like this before," said Ruth Lawson, director of marketing at Bars & Recreation, in a release. "We are excited to offer an experience that is going to pair well with the axe-throwing of AXE MKE and the outstanding experiences that Bars & Rec always offers."
The sippable stock market shenanigans will begin Thursday, Jan. 14 at AXE MKE. To learn more about AXEChange MKE and to make reservations for games both blade-related and bar-related, head over to Bars & Recreation's website.
And stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more updates on Bars & Recreation's other newly announced addition coming to Milwaukee nightlife.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
