Barkha Limbu Daily has been appointed general manager at Mason Street Grill, 425 E. Mason St. where she will take on responsibility for the oversight of all facets of the restaurant’s service, guest engagement, talent development and a variety of guest experiences including exclusive wine dinners and Chef’s Counter experiences.
“Barkha is known throughout the city and country for her impressive culinary skills and incredible service commitment, as she so successfully demonstrated at her own restaurants. We are thrilled she chose to bring her experience to Mason Street Grill,” noted John Wise, vice president of food and beverage at Marcus Hotels & Resorts in a release.
“Barkha has a deep understanding of what makes a restaurant successful and how to deliver fresh and inspiring moments for our guests. We are excited for her to join our acclaimed team of food and beverage innovators and leaders.”
Limbu Daily, who was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, ventured to Wisconsin as an international student at Lakeland College in Sheboygan. After establishing her career in international marketing, she chose to venture into the hospitality industry.
Her first endeavor, the Nepalese restaurant the cheel, captured the flavors of family recipes from Nepal, Burma, Tibet and Northern India. During its tenure, the restaurant attracted diners from throughout Wisconsin and gleaned over 40 local awards. Over the years, Limbu Daily also managed the baaree, a beer garden, and a second restaurant showcasing cuisine from the western coast of Mexico. Her success earned her accolades and the honor of serving as a judge on both the Food Network and “Top Chef.”
“I am excited to be joining Mason Street Grill, a staple of downtown Milwaukee with an acclaimed history,” said Daily. “I look forward to working with the team to continue to elevate Mason Street Grill as one of the top restaurants not only in Milwaukee, but the region, while also connecting with our guests and growing personally and professionally in this role.”
