In case you missed Bartender Olympics -- or if you want a three-minute recap -- check out this video by Flip Eleven of the highly competitive event that took place Thursday, Feb. 24, at Whiskey Bar, 788 N. Jackson St.

The Bartender Olympics is an annual event where local bartenders compete against each other in categories such as Pabst can stacking, drink ordering, recipe concocting and a talent competition.

This year, bartenders included Pete Marshall (Milwaukee Brat House), Alisha Olson (Jo Cats), Danny Benavante (Bel Air Cantina), Nikki Fountaine (Brewski’s), Shenna Barrette (Blackthorn Pib), Nicky Rev (Cafe Lulu), Spencer Kronz (Vitucci’s), Joe Vella (Paulie’s Pub), Scott Sloan (Kenadee’s) and returning champ Matty Gonzales (Sabbatic).

Sloan was the 2011 Gold Medalist. I am personally honored to have the last line in the video, which is directed at Sloan who guzzled five shots and a pint of alcohol during the "talent" portion of the event.

"Enjoy it now because the hangover tomorrow is going to suck," I say to Sloan.

Thanks again to the event’s sponsors Absolut, Hornitos, Jel Party Shots, Jim Beam, Powers, Skinny Girl, Tanqueray and X-rated.
