The long-lived Eagan's, 1000 N. Water St., will be replaced by a Bartolotta gastropub in autumn, according to Bartolotta Restaurant Group general manager John Wise.
It will be the first such concept for the Bartolottas, who also own Harbor House, Lake Park Bistro, Bacchus and a number of other area restaurants.
"Gastro-pubs have become increasingly popular across the country. This concept combines elements of quality food that is approachable and reasonably priced in a comfortable bar environment." said owner Joe Bartolotta in a statement.
"A broad variety of beverage options including craft beers and unique cocktails will be also featured."
The menu is being developed by Bartolotta's James Beard Award-winning chef Adam Siegel.
Wise noted that renovations to the former Eagan's space will begin on June 1 and are expected to last four months. That puts a projected opening date at around Oct. 1.
Eagan's – named for a popular teacher at Marquette University High School Father John R. Eagan, Sr. – opened in 1993. It was run by the Pandl family that also operated the former Pandl's in Bayside and Pandl's Catering Complete.
