A brand new collection of competing chefs who will face-off in a three-round competition during the Second Annual Battle of the Chefs.
The culinary competition and tasting event presented by SamanthaStarr Events takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15 at The Chef’s Table, 503 S. 3rd St. in Walker’s Point.
This year’s event, which will be hosted by Cristian Vega of Screaming Tuna, features an "Around the World Theme," offering chefs the opportunity to work out their chops creating internationally inspired dishes.
Participating chefs include Jason Gorman of the Ambassador Hotel, Thi Cao of Buckley’s, Shani Belton of Shani’s Exquisite Catering, and pastry chefs Sara Ostrowski of Amilinda, Rachel Searl of SURG Restaurant Group and Jazmine Coleman of Icecreamz & Thingz.
Chefs in the appetizer and entree rounds will be paired with celebrity sous chefs including Judge Derek Mosley, Shannon Sims of Today’s TMJ4 and Brandon Tschacher of Thrivent Financial.
In addition to great food, there will be raffle giveaways and a cash bar all night. Proceeds will go to support scholarship funding for culinary and pastry program students at MATC.

Lori is the author of two books: the "Wisconsin Field to Fork" cookbook and "Milwaukee Food". Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club. In 2024, Lori was honored with a "Top 20 Women in Hospitality to Watch" award by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.
When she’s not eating, photographing food, writing or planning for TV and radio spots, you’ll find Lori seeking out adventures with her husband Paul, traveling, cooking, reading, learning, snuggling with her cats and looking for ways to make a difference.
