Mike Vitucci opened the Belmont Tavern, 784 N. Jefferson St., in the spring of 2011, and now, has decided to turn over the keys to new owners.

The Belmont's last night of service will be Sunday, May 17. After that, plans will begin for a fresh concept envisioned by the new owners, Mike and Lauren Foy.

Here is Vitucci's Facebook post:

To all our lovely friends, guests and amazing customers over the past 14 years, we have decided to bring the Belmont Tavern to a close.

Saturday May 17th, will be Belmont’s last night. We are excited for the new owners to take over and create their own concept. I will leave that presentation to Mike Foy and his wife Lauren, Belmont’s new owners.

Mike has been a great friend and has co-managed many establishments in Milwaukee and will deliver a great experience for Jefferson Street. He brings many years of concepts and experience. I know you will love their new creation and will support them.

I want to thank everyone who has patronized us and we hope to see you over the next two weeks as we count down to our final days.

I also want to thank Vin Dimatteo, an amazing friend and manager who has been with me since Whiskey Bar days. Vin has always kept the highest level of customer service and always hired amazing people. JJ, Kyle, Benji, Tina and Payton are what made Belmont so special. To all those that have worked and managed Belmont over the years, a special thanks to you as well. Every employee adds a special touch and leaves a mark.

As they say nothing lasts forever, but memories last a lifetime

Thank you.🙏🏼
