Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted! See all the winners for the month so far here.

Hue

For the third straight year, Milwaukee has spoken and has put Hue – with locations in Bay View and Wauwatosa – at the top of the list of best Asian fusion, Vietnamese, Laotian and Korean restaurants.

Hue, with its authentic tastes of Vietnamese food in a modern atmosphere, pulled it off, claiming the top spot for its great, nicely spiced pho, noodle bowls and other dishes, in an inviting atmosphere.

The OnMilwaukee staff selected the wide-ranging Mekong Cafe, just a hop, skip and a jump from the Tosa Hue, which serves an alluring – and encyclopedic – mix of cuisines from Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.

Runners up:
2. Lucky Ginger
3. Pho 43
4. Mekong Cafe
5. Stone Bowl

OnMilwaukee editors' pick: Mekong Cafe

Lori Fredrich's pick: the cheel
For the second year running, I’m giving my vote to the cheel in Thiensville. For every mile I’ve driven out of my way to dine there, they’ve paid me back in dividends with deliciously unique, well-prepared cuisine, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, along with memorable cocktails. Go for the delicious Himalayan momos, but stay for dishes like silky spiced eggplant bharta served with light, crisp housemade chips or the bheda shank, featuring tender lamb braised with garlic, ginger, onion, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cumin and coriander. I was also pleasantly surprised this year with a number of their specials including a tender, lightly fried octopus flavored with a combination of Nepalese spices.
