Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted! See all the winners for the month so far here.

La Merenda

There's a lot of competition in Milwaukee's small plate scene. However, La Merenda’s inventive and internationally inspired small plate offerings take the top spot for tapas for the second year in a row.

The restaurant’s dedication to local, seasonal fare keeps fans coming back – as do the delectable creations of Chef Peter Sandroni and his kitchen staff. The warmth of the servers and the decor contribute to an extremely appealing dining experience.

Runners up:
2. Odd Duck
3. Balzac
4. Story Hill BKC
5. Wolf Peach

Editor’s pick: Balzac

Lori Fredrich's pick: Odd Duck

Odd Duck gets huge props with me for a number of reasons. One, because the staff runs a tight ship. Service is on par, and the staff always knows a surprising amount about dishes that may not have ever been on the menu before. It also gets all my respect for not being afraid to step wildly outside of the box with some of its entrees. I want a place that challenges me and offers me new flavors, and this is the spot.
