Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted!

Red Light Ramen

The famous East Side late night ramen go-to slurps up the win for Milwaukee's best ramen thanks to the heartwarming soul food being served up bowl after rich bowl.

Starting as a midnight-only hangout for foodies and fellow chefs looking for a satisfying late-night snack, Red Light Ramen has expanded over the years from a pop-up in its older brother restaurant Ardent to a proper brick-and-mortar location right next door in 2016 that's open earlier in the day for normal dinner hours (5 p.m. on Sundays and Tuesdays, 6 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday). The restaurant's also grown out its menu, adding snacks, a dish of donabe and more.

But, of course, you're standing out in the street with one item in mind: the big, bubbling bowls of that classic, crave-worthy tonkotsu ramen – complete with slices of perfect pork belly, mushrooms, scallions, fish cake, bamboo shoots, nori and an egg. Oh, and a PBR or alcoholic slushee on the side.

Bay View's Hungry Sumo came in second place, with The National Cafe in third, and Tanpopo and Stone Bowl Grill rounding out the top five. And plenty of ramen restaurants are still moving into the city. But there's still one that OnMilwaukee voters can't wait to wait outside for.
