Though it's been closed for less than two years, The Social -- which operated at 114 E. Pittsburgh St. -- remains a "sentimental" favorite among OnMilwaukee.com readers.
Maybe it was the mac 'n' cheese or the s'mores. Maybe it was the tasty cocktails. Whatever the reason, for a second straight year Kevin Sloan's The Social bested other choices like Timer's, Shorewood Inn, Century Hall, Club Marilyn and Luke's Sports Spectacular.
In the editorial office, the pick was L.A. Freeway, which may have gotten the nod because it's successor, Cush Lounge, burned in the Pizza Man fire earlier this year. Then again, maybe it's because much of our staff killed a lot of brain cells there. We don't remember ...
