For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."

Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2012. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

In recent years, Milwaukee has seen an explosion of specialty frozen yogurt shops. With this in mind, we decided to pay tribute to our city's creamy frozen staple and like-minded offerings by separating out the fro yo and keeping these cool treats in their very own category.

Custard is king in Milwaukee, but according to OnMilwaukee.com readers, Kopp's Custard reigns supreme over them all. This Milwaukee institution ran away with the title – and with almost three times as many votes as second-place finisher Leon's.

What started as a single stand more than 60 years ago has grown to three area locations, scooping up creamy goodness for two generations. Stop in for a scoop of the flavor of the day. Milwaukee transplants can order their favorite flavors online.

It was a landslide victory, but we couldn't help but give a little love – and the editor's choice – to Leon's.
