For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."

Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2012. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

For the first time, OnMilwaukee.com included the best Milwaukee Food Product category in the survey and the Usinger’s sausage won by a long shot.

The Usinger family has made gourmet, German-style sausages for more than 125 years and there are 70 different sausages, from bratwurst to beerwurst. The sausages are a favorite all year 'round, from summer barbecues to December holiday time.

The Wisconsin Fair cream puff came in second and newcomer Purple Door ice cream nabbed a very close third. It was a tough call, but the OnMilwaukee.com editors chose El Rey chips as their favorite product because of the tasty distinctive flavor.
