For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."
Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2012. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
Some great new restaurants opened in Milwaukee in the past year, but Odd Duck was the favorite of OnMilwaukee.com readers.
Rounding out the top five best new restaurants in Milwaukee, according to you, are Smoke Shack, Melthouse Bistro, The Rumpus Room and Braise.
The 65-seat Odd Duck, 2352 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., is owned by Ross Bachhuber, a former executive chef for Lowlands Group restaurants, and Melissa Buchholz. If it seems like everyone is talking about the place these days, that's because everyone is.
The restaurant and bar – which the staff at OnMilwaukee.com also selected as its fave among new places – updates its menu daily to reflect the offerings, which are created from local ingredients.
As our own Dave Begel wrote, "The menu changes often at Odd Duck, but showing up and seeing what's on the table is more than half the fun of a wonderful restaurant like this."
And it sounds like most of you agree.
