Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2011. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on

For the fifth straight year, October is Dining Month on, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2011."

For the first time ever, we've created categories for best restaurant in a number of geographic regions.

When it comes to the northern suburbs, the readers of ventured just outside City of Milwaukee limits to award Shorewood's Harry's Bar & Grill the best of the best.

Harry's Bar and Grill, 3549 N. Oakland Ave., is the epicenter of NStars restaurant group. Located north of The Knick and south of North Shore Bistro (now NSB), Harry's is the most casual of the three and radiates neighborhood restaurant and upscale sports bar with a menu that can be simply classified as "better than bar food."

We've loved Harry's for many years (try their awesome turkey burger), so we're not surprised readers made this Shorewood staple their top pick.

Interestingly, Harry's only narrowly edged out North Star American Bistro, 4518 N. Oakland Ave., also in Shorewood.

According to our readers, Milwaukee's nearest neighbor to the north is a mecca for good food. editors' choice: North Star American Bistro
