Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2011. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on

For the fifth straight year, October is Dining Month on, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2011."

For five straight years, Milwaukee's beef lovers have chosen the Five O'Clock Steak House as their favorite place for steak.

It's easy to see why.

The classic steakhouse at 2416 W. State St., has been serving up delicious cuts for years – back when it was Coerper's Five O'Clock Club – in a classy, throwback style reminiscent of a '50s supper club.

The Five O'Clock keeps people coming back because the New York Strip and filet mignon are comparable to the best steakhouses in the country. In 2007, Saveur magazine called the restaurant one of its five favorite steakhouses in the country.

"It's nearly impossible to score a reservation at this 1960s-era supper club, formerly known as Coerper's Five O'Clock Club," wrote editor-in-chief James Oseland. "It's desirability and clubby atmosphere are only half the fun, though. The gigantic steaks are deeply browned under furnacelike broilers and emerge tender and juicy in the center. Go with the rib eye: a fattier cut, it arrives practically sizzling."

With a basic menu featuring ribs, chops and five cuts of steak -- all $40 or less -- there's variety and value, and it's like stepping into somewhere that doesn't really feel like Milwaukee.

And, you get a relish tray.

That's not going to happen at the runner-up, Carnevor, which also makes a mean steak.

Our editors, meanwhile, picked Eddie Martini's. We love the atmosphere, ambience and of course, the meat, itself. editors' choice: Eddie Martini's
