The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Eat & Drink, 2007. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

Once again, OnMilwaukee.com readers say Speed Queen serves the city’s best soul food. Whether diners drive-through, carry-out or eat-in, the food is the same top-notch quality, and modestly served in Styrofoam containers with plastic utensils.

Speed Queen slow-cooks its beef and pork over an apple and hickory fire that creates a rich, flavorful taste. Most famous for their ridiculously tender ribs and sloppy-good sandwiches, Speed Queen attracts customers to the modest, North Side restaurant from all corners of the city for lunch and dinner.

Almost half of the OnMilwaukee.com readers polled chose Speed Queen as the city’s top soul food eatery.
