Based on 12 rankings, CNN has dubbed Wisconsin the country’s most representative state, according to CNN.com.

“The Badger State comes closer than any other to state-by-state averages on 12 key measures, according to a new analysis by CNN Polling Director Keating Holland that takes a fresh look at U.S. Census data,” wrote CNN’s poltical editor Mark Preston.

Among the “key statistics” were measurements of race and ethnicity, income and education. According to Holland, the categories used for in the ranking, “Have a strong impact on the political landscape in every state."
