The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2010. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

For two decades, The King & I has ruled Milwaukee’s Thai food scene and, once again, OnMilwaukee.com readers picked it as their favorite.

The King & I is known for its famous volcano chicken, but the restaurant offers more than 65 meat, seafood and poultry dishes that range from mild to tongue-scorchingly hot, including mango curry, stir fried scallops, basil eggplant, pud Thai and many more.

The owners of The King & I, Bob and Marie Phoungphol, immigrated to the United States from Thailand in the '70s, and they worked in numerous Thai restaurants before opening their own. Many of the recipes on The King & I's menu come from the owners’ mothers.

Now it its second Downtown location, The King & I provides an intimate dining experience, but it can also accommodate large groups.
