The food is good. The beer is cold. But, Leff's Lucky Town, 7208 W. State St., isn't flashy, fancy or very remarkable.

And, the customers in Wauwatosa like it that way. We know because once again you voted it best bar in Wauwatosa in the readers' poll. Once again, Cafe Hollander placed second.

Located in a historic building that once housed a silent movie theater and a shoe store that fronted a Prohibition speakeasy, Leff's -- which claims to have one of the world's biggest urinals -- has become a landmark Tosa watering hole and is especially popular before and after Brewers games.

A couple years ago, owner Chris Leffler took over an old gas station next door to build a patio that allows Leff's to offer outdoor dining that - hey trainspotters! -- offers a great view of passing Amtraks and freighters.

The editorial staff, is also partial to Club Tap, 8828 W. North Ave., which just may be Wauwatosa's oldest bar. It's a friendly, low-key neighborhood place that is located next to Lalli's, which boasts some of the city's best carry-out pizza. editors' pick: Club Tap
