DreamBikes
DreamBikes is a non-profit endeavor with five locations across the United States. It is supported by Trek, who uses the bike shop model to provide paid, hands-on job training for youth in moderate-to-low income neighborhoods. DreamBikes is a great resource for used bikes and parts as well as occasional closeouts on new-old-stock bits from Trek's warehouse.
Erik’s Bike, Board and Ski - East Side
Erik’s started in Minnesota bust has since expanded to 30 locations around the Midwest. They are a full-service shop for new bicycles under any budget, from casual cruisers to high-speed racers. They also offer services for snowboards, downhill skis, skateboards and pro scooters.
Vulture Space
Vulture Space is a rag-tag, low-cost, do-it-yourself space that emphasizes learning through doing, and is based out of the Grand Avenue Mall. You can find tons of used bikes and components at reasonable prices, but you might have to spend some time digging through crates and getting your hands dirty.
Truly Spoken Cycles
Truly Spoken Cycles was started in 2008 and was Riverwest’s first bike shop. You can find new and used bikes there often in the mid-range value. Their service department has an ethos focused on value, and will often make efforts to save existing components before outright replacing them.
Everyday Cycles
Everyday Cycles was started by Greg Smith, the owner of Schlick Cycles, who custom build steel bike frames. Everyday Cycles focuses on special orders, and mountain biking and fat biking culture, though all styles of riding are welcome.
Everyday Cycles is currently open by appointment.

Milwaukee - South
Ben’s Cycle / Milwaukee Bicycle Company
Ben’s Cycle is the oldest opperating bike shop in Milwaukee, opening its doors in 1928, a full 35 years before the next-oldest Milwaukee shop, Emerys Cycling, Triathlon & Fitness (though Johnson’s Cycles in Wauwatosa opened a mere 11 years after Ben’s). Owner Vince Hanoski is the third generation owner.
Ben’s is a full service shop with a gigantic selection of bicycles and parts at any style and price point. Beyond the shop and the warehouse, Ben's also has a comprehensive online store. There is also a training center for indoor riding.
Ben’s is also home to the Milwaukee Bicycle Company brand, which has designed a full slate of high-quality steel frames that are then hand-made by Waterford Precision Cycles (based in Waterloo, Wisconsin).

Wheel & Sprocket - Bay View
The Bay View location of Wheel & Sprocket is their newest location, slated to open in September 2020. On top of the expected bicycle sales floor and service shop, they are also home to the Joy Ride Cafe, which offers coffee, bakery, pizza and other eats.
Wheel & Sprocket is Wisconsin's largest and most prolific bike shop, with many locations, but that doesn't mean they're a faceless monolith. Their level of community support is unparalleled and they've been awarded the Best Bike Shop in the Country by National Bicycle Dealer Association & Interbike, twice.
Noel and Amelia Kegel are second-generation owners after their father, Chris Kegel, passed away. It is family-owned and thus the only woman-co-owned shop in the area.
They offer bikes and trikes for all lifestyles, including commuters, racing, cargo bikes, electric bikes and more.
The building also houses the main headquarters for Wheel & Sprocket, the Chris Kegel Foundation, Retail Toolkit, the Wisconsin Bike Fed and the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.
Bigfoot Bike & Skate
Bigfoot Bike & Skate offers service for bicycles as well as rollerskates and skateboards. The bike focus is mostly on BMX-style bikes from 20-inch to 27.5-inch cruisers.
Milwaukee - West
Emerys Cycling, Triathlon & Fitness - Milwaukee
Emerys is a full-service bike shop that also offers support for running, swimming and all-around fitness with equipment such as stationary bikes, treadmills and rowing machines.
They also specialize in adaptive bicycles for people who are differently-abled (handicapped, disabled, disfigured, etc.), giving everyone a chance to enjoy activities outdoors.
Milwaukee Bicycle Collective
The Milwaukee Bicycle Collective was established in 2002 as a collectively-run, all-volunteer bike shop that takes donations of used bikes, fixes them up, and makes them available for purchase at a relatively inexpensive price. There is a big learning-by-doing, do-it-yourself ethos and an intense focus on re-use and recycling. If you want to learn how to overhaul a bearing set, adjust your own brakes, or restore and keep your favorite vintage bike in tip-top shape, this is the place for you.
Hours are limited by volunteers, so be sure to call before you go to make sure they’re open.
Velobahn
Velobahn is primarily a coffee shop with a bike service shop attached. They are located right off of the Hank Aaron Trail in the Pedal Milwaukee building and offer spring and summer service.
Fyxation
Fyxation hit the scenes with a bomb-proof tire for urban fixed gear riding, but has since increased and evolved its offerings to include a variety of quality components and mid-range singlespeeds and geared bikes for a good price. Their Silver City location is open via appointment for sales and service; it's also next door to the Velobahn coffee shop, which is a nice place to chill while your bike is built or your flat is repaired.

Pinnacle Bike Service
Pinnacle is a small service shop on the border of Shorewood and Milwaukee. They offer service packages and custom bike builds and have a small selection of used bikes. Because their selection of bikes is small they do offer to build bikes out of the box for free for folks who purchased their bikes online.

Southshore Cyclery is a full-service shop with an extensive online shop. But even though most components are available digitally, it's worth stopping into the shop to view their vintage bicycle museum for all-kinds of eye-popping history. Penny farthings, wooden frames and original Schwinns adorn the walls.

Patio Bike Shop in Waukesha is a full-service shop and has been owned and managed by John since 1972. They are a full-service shop and offer a huge selection of over 2,000 bikes.
Cheata Bikes
Before motorcycles were invented and long before electric bikes hit the mainstream there were bike frames modified with engines. Cheata Bikes keeps that tradition alive.

Allis Bike & Fitness
Allis Bike is a full-service bike shop with a selection of bikes for any budget and a huge selection of BMX brands. They have been in business since 1951.
Johnson’s Cycle & Fitness
Johnson’s started out as a sporting goods store in 1939, but had transformed into a full-service bike shop by 1994. They carry many levels of bicycles, but also carry general fitness products as well as skateboards.

REI
REI is an outdoor company that caters to an array of activities from rock climbing to camping to hiking and, yes, cycling. They carry a selection of Co-op Cycles bikes (their house brand) as well as outside companies like Cannondale, Surly and Salsa.
They have a full service bike shop that handles minor adjustments to complex overhauls.
Milwaukee - North
There are no bike shops in Milwaukee’s North Side.
