Every December for the past few years I’ve been asked to call a game of bingo at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino to raise money and awareness for its Heart of Canal program. Since 1994, the program raised almost $15 million dollars for hundreds of charities.

OnMilwaukee partners with a non-profit group every year and this year it’s the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. OnMilwaukee’s Jeff Sherman describes the program and sponsorship in this blog

Personally, I love being involved in this event – not only because it gives large sums of money to extremely important organizations, but also because, it turns out, I really enjoy calling bingo.

As a person who digs performing, I find calling bingo to be a fun performance of sorts. And I'm always awarded with a souvenir bingo ball after my shift.

Consider attending a bingo game for charity. Don’t forget your good luck charms. Trolls, rabbits’ feet, those waving cats … Whatever you think has the magic mojo.

Here’s a 45-second video of me bingo-ing. I have a calling for bingo calling, don’t ya think?
