Milwaukee countryish rockers The Wildbirds got the big city treatment in Chicago earlier this week, when someone stole all of their equipment.

A bunch of local businesses, friends and fellow musicians have come to their aid because this is Milwaukee and we are not jerks. All those friendly folks are helping the boys put on a benefit concert Monday to help replace their gear so they can keep on keepin' on.

Here's info the band recently sent out through Facebook:

"We, The Wildbirds had the misfortune of our van being broken into four days ago after a show in Chicago.

"They stole seven of our favorite guitars and one brand new Nord keyboard.
All in all it has set us back $8,000 overnight.

"Fortunately, we have beautiful friends in amazing bands that have agreed to partake in a robbery-relief show this coming Monday.

There will be performances by:

The Celebrated Workingman
Quinn Scharber
The Ragadors
The Delta Routine
Alan Cote
Hayward Williams
Shoot Down the Moon
& The Wildbirds (on borrowed gear)

"Y'all have been incredible to us so far in our musical ventures, and we have no interest in taxing you for being Wildbirds fans. Yet we find ourselves a little beaten down at the moment, and your graciousness could put us quickly back into action.

"We will be releasing a new song/video online the night of the show as a tiny gift in return.

"Yield Bar will be giving the first ¼ barrel of Pabst the earliest arrivals, a portion of bar proceeds towards the cause, & raffling off a barrel party to a lucky winner.

"Freya Salon, Trocadero, Nomad World Pub, Vintage and more will be donating gifts and gift certificates

"7 p.m., $10 minimum donation (due to limited room).

"For anyone unable to make it out to the show, there is a Paypal account set-up to help us replace our instruments. Click this link to help out.

"This show is gonna be incredible, come celebrate Christmas with us early!

-The Wildbirds,."
