"MortAuthority," and his insightful peek into his continuing job search, is the winner of the OMC Readers Blog Contest, run throughout the month of December on OnMilwaukee.com.

For his contributions, MortAuthority wins a one-night stay and a dinner at Kil@wat at the new InterContinental Milwaukee hotel, 139 E. Kilbourn Ave.

"My blog should be read as a continuing narrative that starts on Nov.30," says MortAuthority.  "Basically it started because OnMilwaukee sent out the call to blog just as I began a continuing (and frustrating) search for a new job."

MortAuthority describes himself as a stay-at-home dad who spends his days watching "Sesame Street," sending out resumes -- and now blogging for OnMilwaukee.com.

"The youth coffeehouse/music venue I was running in West Bend had just closed its doors and I was scrambling to pick up the pieces. I figured it would be fun and maybe cathartic to write about my experience: the attempts of an unemployed 30-something with a degree in philosophy to find a job in the Milwaukee Metro area," he says.

"The search is still going but even when (or should I say 'if' -- God, I hope not!) it ends, I plan on continuing the blog the continuing adventure."

The contest runner up is "Arvid in Town," a local artist who blogged about everything from snowfall to the differences between Milwaukee and Michigan.

Third place goes to "ItsMrLucky," a chronicle of comedian Dobie Maxwell's life on the road doing the stand-up circuit.

Congratulations to the winners and everyone who's blogged.  Keep 'em coming, Milwaukee!
