Professional make-up artist, stylist and image consultant Sarah Brucker traveled extensively over the past seven years, but the Brookfield native is happy to have landed in Milwaukee's Third Ward where she will open Blush (A Beauty Boutique) by the end of August.
"This is a great opportunity for me," says the 27-year-old Brucker. "I get to bring a piece of everywhere I've traveled to Milwaukee."
Blush (A Beauty Boutique), 249 N. Water St., offers more than 30 different luxury product lines of fragrance, cosmetics, body, skin and hair care, such as Laura Mercier, T LeClerc and Creed Fragrance. Many of these products were previously unavailable in Milwaukee.
"These high-end products offer a prestigious list of celebrity clientele," says Brucker, who once applied make-up to family members of the band Bon Jovi and numerous models from magazines such as Elle and Vogue.
Product education is very important to Brucker, and she looks forward to imparting her knowledge to her customers.
"The Blush experience is a place where simplicity meets glamour and beauty, enabling you to learn about the products you are using and how to apply them," she says.
Brucker joins a few other savvy women who recently opened boutiques in the Third Ward, like Lela and Hers. Brucker says she has always loved the neighborhood and plans to collaborate with the other female shop owners to make the Third Ward the city's hottest fashion district.
"It (The Third Ward) reminds me a lot of Soho," she says.
Blush's hours are Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free champagne will flow from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings.
