There's still over 24 hours to go until the Packers open up the 2019-20 NFL season against the rival Chicago Bears, but the smack talk between the two has started early thanks to a pretty terrific star-studded promo for Thursday night's matchup.
Posted by NBC Sports, the five-minute video (yes, that's long – but it's worth it, trust us) features Brett Favre tailgating with some famous fans of Da Bears: Bill Swerski's superfans.
Glad to see Brett's line readings haven't particularly improved since "There's Something About Mary." But other than some dry acting from The Gunslinger, this video's pretty spectacular, hitting all the right jokes: Brett Favre's ability to throw untimely interceptions, Cody Parkey's ability to hit two uprights with a single kick and home voice assistants' ability to annoy the heck out of me. In general, it's the perfect pregame entertainment before tomorrow night's big game in Chicago.
Speaking of which, the Packers season – and the entire NFL season with it – kicks off tomorrow night at 7:20 p.m. on NBC.
But seriously: Where can I get one of those Cody Parkey teddy bear field goal kicker sets?
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
