On Saturday, July 29, members of the Milwaukee Brewers will pay a visit to the Miracle League of Milwaukee. On that day, several current and former Brewers will take the field with kids and help coach, encourage, motivate and cheer them on. At the end of the visit, Brewers Community Foundation, the charitable arm of the Milwaukee Brewers, will present the League with a $10,000 check.
The Miracle League gives kids with special needs the ability to play the game of baseball. The organization allows all children to play organized baseball, regardless of their ability. Kids with special needs dress in uniforms, make plays in the field and round the bases, just like all kids who enjoy the game in any league.
All games are played on a custom-designed fields, which feature a cushioned, rubberized and completely flat surface that aims to prevent injuries and allows access for the visually impaired and those in wheelchairs. All areas of the field, including the dugouts and restrooms, are universally accessible.
Brewers Community Foundation harnesses the pride, passion, and commitment of Brewers fans, players and other supporters to positively impact the lives of children and their families in the Greater Milwaukee area and Wisconsin.
Funding efforts strategically extend financial support to nonprofits that provide quality programming in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs.
